About Us

The Sounds Of Your Family Are Important To Us!

Our Story

Hughes Family Hearing Aid Center is a family owned business established by Don and Sherri Hughes in July 1994. We have since expanded to three locations in north central Ohio with offices in Delaware and Bucyrus. Our patients tell us we set ourselves apart from other hearing aid practices by how we treat them as patients, and that we genuinely care about them like family.  Nearly every patient knows our staff personally and knows about our families.  In turn, we spend time getting to know our patients in order to make better hearing assessments and create better results for improved hearing.

I know how important it is to hear your children and grandchildren laugh and whisper “I love you”.  I understand how important it is to hear the pastor at church, a husband or wife, or a conversation with a good friend. These are the sounds that make life precious!  Just like our slogan says, “The sounds of your family are important to us,” and our goal at Hughes Family Haring Aid Centers is to help you stay connected to the people you care about by improving your hearing.

We think it is important to provide leading hearing aid technology at reasonable prices, but we place special emphasis on providing you with the best in follow-up care to make certain you are successful. We know that circumstances change in life and we strive to help patients manage their hearing in concert with their ever-changing personal needs and challenges.  After you start wearing your hearing aids from our practice, you should want to wear them daily because they improve the quality of your life through better hearing.

We want you to be our next testimonial!

Our Commitment

Our commitment to patient care was built around the mutual agreement of honor, integrity and trust with each patient. As a part of the nationwide NuEar network, we aim to provide the greatest hearing care experience possible by abiding to the following standards that define Hearing Independence:

  1. Comprehensive Evaluation

We evaluate your hearing, communication needs and goals for your life.

  2. Recommend Only What Needs Recommending

Because we evaluate all your hearing and communication needs, we will recommend a treatment plan that is unique to you and designed to meet your needs.

  3. Clear Understanding of the Hearing Journey and Results

We make sure that you understand what steps will be taken on your journey to better hearing and what the realistic outcomes are for those steps.

  4. Seeing and Hearing the Benefit

We will verify that the hearing instruments and accessories that go with them are working and provide the benefit that you need. This verification may be done through several clinically adopted tools such as Real Ear Measurement, Speech Mapping or Sound Field Verification.

  5. Treatment is More Than Just an Office Visit

We work with you to create a long-term treatment plan, define follow-up appointments, perform regular ongoing evaluations, and any additional care that you may need to make sure you stay satisfied with your hearing in the years to come.

  6. Warranty for One, Warranty for All

When you work with NuEar, you are working not only with your local hearing healthcare professionals, but also the national network that will honor the warranty and support and service guarantees on all NuEar products.

  7. Commitment for a Lifetime
